Meet Nile
Nile Bunger (she/they) is an Ocean and Environmental Activist with over a decade of work and advocacy related to climate change, wildlife handling and conservation, as well as civic engagement education under her belt.
Her love for the planet and all of its creatures started at the young age of three years old, and rapidly grew deeper over the years. In 5th grade, during an overnight field trip at the Vancouver Aquarium in Canada, her class slept in front of the Beluga whale exhibit. To no surprise she was the last of her peers to fall asleep, as she was completely captivated by these magnificent creatures. The burning desire to learn how to protect creatures such as these and their natural habitat sparked within her, as that unknowingly was the true beginning of her life's purpose.
Once completing high school, Nile worked and interned in various wildlife and conservation settings prior to obtaining a certificate in Marine and Antarctic Science and working towards a degree in Environmental Science. Her background also includes partnership with the United Nations Association for Oceans & Climate in the UK, as well as various local level organizations in the state of Arizona to enhance better policy and action towards protecting our natural environments and communities.
Ultimately, Nile has concluded that no real improvements will be made until we challenge ourselves individually by reconnecting back to our true original purpose as apex predators. With the advancement of technology and modernized culture we have slowly been disconnecting our true identities as human beings.
Our actions are both detrimental to our mental health as well as the existence of all life on earth. In order to systematically and sustainably improve our ecosystem, we must learn to embrace nature and see ourselves as coexisting rather than owning. Through an environmental lens, reducing extinction starts with learning how to heal what we have broken on a global scale. ovement that helps redefine the future of our planet with pioneering insights and actionable solutions for climate change.
